Programs Used: Unity3D, FL Studio, Audacity, Bfxr
Time: 48 Hours
Team Size: 4
Theme: Command
About: In the spring of 2014, I participated in another 48 hour game jam/compo at SNHU with the Radiate team. This would be my first time using the Unity engine for project of this scale. The theme this year was “command”. Our game, in accordance to the theme, involved controlling and navigating hordes of robot minions throughout a level. The minions could be commanded to attack enemies and collect artifacts. Within 48 hours we were able to finish all of our required gameplay programming, implement sounds, add flair and death animations, and create some cool menus. We ended up with a nearly 100% complete build. This Is Exploration placed second at the end of the jam.
How to Play / Controls:
WASD – Move player Space – Shoot pistol
Left Mouse Button (Hold and/or click) – Move minion to spot
F – Toggle minion stay/follow
G – Set minions to attack nearest threat
P – Pause
The purple satellite stations will beam down one robot for every 4 scrap you have. Collect artifacts by crowding your minions around them. The more minions around the artifact the faster it will be collected.
